First National Bank is a community bank that has been around since 1903. We have branches located in Ames, Ankeny, West Des Moines, and Osceola, Iowa. We were voted Top Bank in Story County in 2021.

Retail banking is everyday banking that happens between consumers (individuals and businesses) and their bank. The Retail Banking team consists of individuals that perform a wide variety of tasks related to checking and savings accounts, Individual Retirement accounts (IRAs), Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), ATM/debit cards and credit cards, consumer loans, and safe deposit boxes. Examples of more common career opportunities on this team include Relationship Bankers (Learn more), branch managers, and consumer loan officers.
Customer Service Center
Customer Service Center representatives answer customer questions about basic banking services, such as account balances and interest rates and fees. They also help customers protect their accounts by reviewing suspicious activity, reversing transactions, and reissuing debit cards. First National Bank's Customer Service Center team members have in-depth and expansive broad knowledge of all the banks' products and services. Professionals on this team mainly include customer service specialists and interactive customer service representatives.
Digital Banking Services
Digital banking involves the digitalization of all traditional banking products, processes, and activities to provide customers services the way they prefer to bank. Typical positions within this team include digital banking specialists.
The Commercial Loans teams are lenders and credit professionals who are involved in lending money to corporate borrowers. These lenders have skills and knowledge around how to conduct financial analysis and credit underwriting. Lenders need to be able to determine a borrower's ability to effectively utilize the funds to generate additional cash flows and meet debt obligations. A few examples of career opportunities on this team include loan officers, credit analysts, and loan processors.
Deposit Operations has responsibilities in the functional areas of debit cards and disputes, document imaging, ACH processing, transit returns, back-office deposit operations, exception processing, audits, balancing deposit applications and accounts through reconciliation, and ATM settlement activities. Individuals on this team work closely with all employees to ensure that information entered is within policy and procedures. Professionals who work in Deposit Operations are known as deposit operations specialists and managers.
First Point Wealth Solutions
First Point Wealth Solutions includes several different departments, including Financial Management & Trust Services, Wealth Management, and Private Banking. Positions within these departments typically include investment advisors, portfolio managers, private bankers, trust administrators, and administrative assistants.
The Compliance department acts as the bank's internal regulatory agency. It is the unit that ensures that the bank complies with applicable laws, regulations and rules, and it plays an essential role in helping to preserve the integrity and reputation of the bank. Positions in this department include compliance officers and specialists.
The Audit Department is responsible for evaluating business procedures, risk management, control functions, and governance. Within this department are internal auditor positions.
This team is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of integrated marketing campaigns. Team members collaborate with members from all lines of business to support their unique strategies, revenue goals, and community support. Professionals in this department are experienced marketing managers and specialists.
The Operations team helps establish, maintain, and facilitate the bank's methods of doing business. They oversee all transaction reports and ensure that a high degree of accuracy is maintained by the bank. Positions on this team mainly include Operations officers.
Human Resources and Training & Development
The Human Resources Department is responsible for the administration and development of the human resources of the bank, and coordination of human resources planning for all departments within the bank. The Training & Development Department is responsible for onboarding experiences, training opportunities, and career development; as well as helping bank employees master their current roles.
